This site is dedicated to the memory of Kiersten Peterson.

Kiersten Rylee Peterson was born on October 16th 2007 at 8:14am with out a breath. She was born at 20 week of gestation after being diagnosed with Renal Agenesis. At 18 weeks of gestation it was determined by ultrasound that Kiersten Rylee had no kidneys and no bladder. After a second opinion it was decided to induce Baby Kiersten early. Renal Agenesis is a fatal birth defect. The kidneys and bladder are needed to produce amniotic fluid inside the womb. Without the fluid the baby's lungs will not develop and the uterus walls will contact around the baby causing deformities. No matter the outcome either a birth at 40 wks or at 20 wks, Baby Kiersten wouldn't survive outside the womb. To lessen the suffering of Baby Kiersten's birth her parents decided to be induced early instead of later. After petitioning the board of directors in Phoenix it was approved to be induced at 20wks. Kiersten didn't survive the birth. She was born at 8:14am in Good Banner Hospital in Phoenix, Az. Although she didn't take that last breath. She was alive in all of us that day. She was held by family and loved. Kiersten was buried in Mesa City Cemetery on October 19th at 1pm. She was laid in her white casket lined in velvet pink surrounded by her tea party friends... A enormous Teddy Bear, A baby doll, an angel and several other companions. She now rests in heaven where every day is cookies and tea.
